[18:1]  1 tn Heb “the tent of assembly.”

[18:1]  sn On the tent of meeting see Exod 33:7-11.

[18:1]  2 tn Heb “and the land was subdued before them.”

[12:5]  3 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

[12:5]  4 tc Some scholars, on the basis of v. 11, emend the MT reading שִׁכְנוֹ (shikhno, “his residence”) to the infinitive construct לְשָׁכֵן (lÿshakhen, “to make [his name] to dwell”), perhaps with the 3rd person masculine singular sf לְשַׁכְּנוֹ (lÿshakÿno, “to cause it to dwell”). Though the presupposed nounשֵׁכֶן (shekhen) is nowhere else attested, the parallel here with שַׁמָּה (shammah, “there”) favors retaining the MT as it stands.

[16:2]  5 tn Heb “sacrifice the Passover” (so NASB). The word “animal” has been supplied in the translation for clarity.

[16:2]  6 tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on “he” in the previous verse.

[16:6]  7 tn Heb “the Passover.” The translation uses a pronoun to avoid redundancy in English.

[16:6]  8 tc The MT reading אֶל (’el, “unto”) before “the place” should, following Smr, Syriac, Targums, and Vulgate, be omitted in favor of ב (bet; בַּמָּקוֹם, bammaqom), “in the place.”

[16:6]  9 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” See note on “he” in 16:1.

[16:16]  10 tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on “he” in 16:1.

[16:2]  11 tn Heb “sacrifice the Passover” (so NASB). The word “animal” has been supplied in the translation for clarity.

[16:2]  12 tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on “he” in the previous verse.

[132:13]  13 tn Or “for.”

[132:13]  14 tn Heb “he desired it for his dwelling place.”

[132:14]  15 tn The words “he said” are added in the translation to clarify that what follows are the Lord’s words.

[132:14]  16 tn Heb “for I desired it.”

[14:32]  17 sn The question forces the Philistines to consider the dilemma they will face – surrender and oppression, or battle and death.
